Specialty Woods, Milled for the Exceptional
Some projects call for wood selected as carefully as the design itself. Our specialty collection brings together clear grades, refined grain and standout species for projects where every board is meant to be seen. Each one is hand-selected and finished with the same care we bring to everything that leaves the Flathead Valley.
At Glacier Millworks, specialty means small-batch attention at full-project scale. These are the woods we reach for when the design deserves a signature.
The Specialty Collection
- CVG Hemlock. Clear vertical-grain hemlock brings an even texture and a light tone that accepts finish with remarkable uniformity for a refined look in serene interiors.
- CVG Cedar. The most disciplined cut of a beloved wood, clear vertical-grain cedar pairs tight grain with cedar's natural durability, delivering clean lines board after board.
- D&Better Cedar. A premium appearance grade selected for clarity and character, D&Better Cedar offers the warmth of cedar with a nearly flawless face.
- White Oak. This true hardwood delivers density, strength and a closed-grain structure that stands up to moisture and time. Its distinctive figure brings weight and permanence to any design.
Choose Your Wood. Choose Your Line.
Specialty stock moves through three of our product lines, so a single remarkable wood can take on whichever character your project calls for.
Craft at the Highest Grade
A Place for Every Board
Specialty woods shine wherever the eye lingers: feature walls, ceilings, entryways, fine millwork and facades built to make an impression. Each line is offered in Shiplap, Tongue & Groove and S4S profiles, with additional profiles milled on request.
Vetted Twice, Trusted Always
Specialty stock earns its name before we ever touch it, graded for clarity and consistency at the source, then inspected board by board in our shop. Our warranty guides document coverage clearly, keeping specifications simple for every product line.
Beauty That Keeps Its Word
These woods age the way fine materials should. Clear grain weathers evenly, white oak deepens with quiet dignity and periodic care holds original tones for decades. Time only adds to what careful selection began.
Curated From the Best Sources
Our specialty species come from responsibly managed forests, selected in limited quantities that respect the resource. Rare grades ask for restraint, and we source them with the long view that defines everything we mill.
