FASCIA/SOFFIT

WHERE THE ROOFLINE COMES TOGETHER

Fascia marks where the roof meets the wall. Soffit closes the eave while allowing airflow. Both have to perform through changing exterior conditions, making species, finish and profile important considerations from the start.

Every board is Montana-milled and Montana-finished to the same exacting standard, whether it's headed for a custom home or a multi-unit spec.

What Goes Into Every Board

From species to finish, every decision is held to the same standard. Here's how a Glacier Millworks board comes to be.

Species Selected for Exposure

We choose wood for how it performs in shaded, damp eave conditions — dimensional stability and grain behavior first, appearance second. These factors help support dimensional stability and a clean, consistent fascia line over time.

A Finish Built for Where It Sits

Soffit and fascia sit in a specific microclimate: indirect light, trapped humidity and less airflow than open wall cladding. Finish selection must specifically account for these conditions to prevent moisture retention and premature degradation beneath the overhang.

Milled to Fit the Vision

It all comes together in our warehouse, where every order is milled and hand-finished for your project. We shape each board to your design, then inspect each piece by hand before it ships. From our valley to your build, it arrives Montana-made and ready to go up.

Ready for a Lasting Install

Giving each board room to breathe, matching the fasteners to the profile and keeping air moving through the eave all help your fascia and soffit stay true for the life of the build.

Product Lines Built for the Roofline

The line features six distinct combinations of species, treatments and finishes. Available with profile and ventilation options tailored to both fascia and soffit applications, each product meets specific project requirements. Choosing the right option depends on environmental exposure, visual prominence and overall design intent.

Timber Forge

Timber Forge is charred and brushed by hand, a process that pulls deep color and pronounced texture from the grain. It’s fit for projects where the fascia or soffit is meant to stand out as a detail, not just close the gap between the roof and wall.

Alpine

Brushed and stained by hand in our shop, Alpine’s color and grain variation are far from a uniform factory look. With a range of finish options to choose from, it gives architects and builders room to dial in a warm, distinctive tone whether the project is residential or commercial.

Revenant

Layered by hand into a deep, weathered tone, Revenant carries the depth and variation of naturally weathered wood. That time-worn look gives fascia and soffit established character right away, without waiting years for it to develop on its own.

Terra therm

Made from premium Nordic Spruce, Terra Therm is thermally modified through a high-heat, chemical-free process that enhances dimensional stability, durability and resistance to environmental exposure. That structural integrity makes it a dependable choice for fascia and soffit that sit in shaded, often damp conditions with limited airflow.

abodo vulcan

Abodo Vulcan starts as FSC-certified New Zealand Radiata Pine, thermally modified for durability and dimensional stability without chemical preservatives. Its vertical grain runs clean and consistent along the roofline. Because Glacier Millworks is authorized to finish Abodo Vulcan in-house, you also get more flexibility on finish and custom color than a typical import program allows.

IMBUE

Milled from premium clear-grade Radiata Pine, Imbue is heat-tempered for durability and dimensional stability without chemical preservatives. Its Class 1 rating against fungal decay makes it an ideal high-performance option for above-ground eave and soffit installations.

Frequently asked questions

Which line best suits fascia and soffit?

The right product depends on the application, exposure and desired surface character. Our team can help you compare species, finishes and available options to determine the right fit for your fascia or soffit applicatio

How do you choose the right species for the eave?

We match each species to the role it will play, drawing on its natural stability and grain to frame your roofline for the long term. For distinctive or unusual rooflines, a short conversation with our team makes specifying simple.

Can soffit be milled for ventilation?

Yes. We custom-mill every order and shape profiles for clean lines and easy airflow, keeping the eave ventilated and refined.

Will the finish keep its color in the eave?

Our finishes are made to hold a rich tone in the shaded air beneath the roof. A clear protective topcoat preserves the original color for years. Over time, the wood will also grow into a natural patina full of depth.

Do you ship beyond Montana?

We do. Every order is sourced, milled and hand-finished by our team in Montana, then delivered to residential and commercial projects across the country.
