Our Story

What do you do when you can’t get the thing you need? Make it yourself.

From humble beginnings as day-labor painters in 2004, Greg Riska and Bryant Bach didn’t just rise through the finish industry. They poured themselves into it. Every job was a chance to learn, refine, and raise the standard for what quality should look like.

Over the course of two decades, they didn’t just start businesses. They cultivated a reputation for artistry in wood finishing that became known across the Flathead Valley. Their work spoke for itself—sharp, consistent, and built to last.

By the early 2020s, they faced the same problem again and again: materials that looked good on paper but couldn’t perform on the job. So they did what they’ve always done. They built something better. Glacier Millworks was born from experience, not ego. A company rooted in craft and driven by the belief that beauty and integrity should always go hand in hand.

At Glacier, artisan doesn’t mean unattainable. Greg and Bryant stay close to the work, collaborating with contractors, selecting materials, and fine-tuning every detail. No middlemen. No inflated promises. Just enduring craftsmanship, honestly priced.

But the real foundation of Glacier isn’t just wood or finishes. It’s the people. This is a place where good folks become great craftsmen, where mentorship shapes the next generation, and where integrity is just as essential as design.

In a construction world rushing toward shortcuts, Glacier Millworks takes its time. Every board, every beam, every finish is a quiet promise: this was made to mean something.
